Citizenship marketing partner likely to step back as result of unstable government of Vanuatu

Citizenship Commission of the Republic of Vanuatu indicated that international marketing solutions company, CS Global Partners is likely to walk away from assisting the government over its Economic Citizenship Programmes, such as Development Support Program (DSP) and Real Estate Option Program (REO Program).

Cronulla News– An Australia based news organization cited an official from the Citizenship Commission who said that CSGP has indicated its oust from the agreement with Vanuatu due to lack of stable government in the country.

During this period, the government authorities had appointed a global Marketing Service Provider agency, CS Global Partners, for seeking help in guiding and advising the government to reconsider and re-structure the necessary changes to be made into the Citizenship by Investment Programme.

According to an Australia-based news organization report, “Vanuatu government is currently being victim to inter-governmental feud. The unit of Citizenship by Investment programme is unable to manage the programme efficiently.”

The Report stated that, “CS Global Partners (CSGP) is showing almost no interest towards Vanuatu’s CBI programme and is about to step back from working for their programme. It also asked the government to first “focus on their inter-governmental feuds and solve it”.

The Report further added that managing any CBI programme is very sensitive and critical for the national economy, and the agitation within the government brings more complications, which could also impact the whole CBI programme.

Cronulla News added that making a citizenship programme match international standards requires rigorous study, structure, planning, and implementation. And to add this into the pipeline, a stable government is a must, which Vanuatu is currently lacking.

Moreover, after facing a lack of effort from the government, the global marketing firm has asked the government authorities to first work upon their internal conflict and then look for a suitable marketing partner to match their requirements.

After the European Union’s decision to revoke visa-free access to Vanuatu came out, many countries are planning to revoke a visa-free agreement from Vanuatu.

The Republic of Vanuatu’, a small island situated on the bounds of the South Pacific ocean, has 80 islands on its land and stretches around 1,300 kilometres. The nation is considered one of the worst affected nations due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other natural disasters, leaving a struggling growth rate.

According to the reports, the small island generates almost half of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) via the Citizenship by Investment programme.
