CCM and PAM have given deadline to PM Harris to resolve issues

Premier of Nevis, as well as Leader of Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) Mark Brantley, has addressed the people of the nation on Saturday. During the address, he mentioned several matters that are continuously moving toward tearing the nation’s fabric apart.

While addressing people, he clearly mentioned about the deadline that the People’s Action Movement (PAM) and Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) have given to the Prime Minister as well as the leader of Team Unity, Dr Timothy Harris, to resolve the issues.

Meanwhile, he said, “The Honourable Shawn Richards & I have written communication to the honourable Prime Minister, setting out our position for our path forward. We have taken the unprecedented step of putting a deadline of Wednesday, on 20 April.”

He mentioned by Wednesday, the PAM and CCM would know whether they could achieve a resolution or face dissolution.

While focusing on the ongoing political turmoil in St Kitts and Nevis, he said, “I regret to say that along the way, we(Team Unity) have lost our way. The lack of commitment to finding resolution has created a public spectacle of which none of us can proud.”

He further added, “Both conventions of People’s Action Movement’s on 13 March, 2022 and the People’s Labour Party on 26 March, 2022 has shown that “Things are not well.”

Premier and the CCM leader further added that, “The Prime Minister and Leader of Team Unity made no attempts to get PLP, PAM, CCM together to resolve issues such as the concerns about keeping the promises to people, concerns about allowing PLP operatives to openly attack sitting members of the cabinet, transparency of the cabinet.”

He further added that three parties, the People’s Action Movement, Concerned Citizens Movement and People’s Labour Party, came together under the “umbrella of Team Unity”, offering a clear way for the people of St Kitts and Nevis. But the leader of Team Unity and Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris is not trying to save Team Unity, but he is merely playing for time, said CCM leader.
