Caribbean: On the special eve of Father’s Day, various leaders of the Caribbean countries extended great and warm wishes and blessings and hailed the fathers across the Caribbean.

Wishes from Antigua and Barbuda- Prime Minister Gaston Browne:

Prime Minister Gaston Browne wished, “Happy Father’s Day to all fathers who continue to protect, love and care for their children. We love and celebrate all fathers.”

Wishes from Dominica- Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit:

Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit noted, “Wishing a very Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers of our nation. For the love, guidance and protection provided to your families, we salute you. May your day be filled with joy.”

Wishes from Guyana- President Irfaan Ali:

President Dr Irfaan Ali also hailed the fathers of Guyana. He stated, “As I wish my father a Happy Father’s Day, I also recognise the countless fathers who played a role in my development and life. As a country, we must uplift every father and all those who assume the role of a fatherly figure. We recognise the tremendous role you all play in the development of our society. May God continue to bless all of you.”

Wishes from Grenada: Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell:

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Remember it’s important to stay connected and to interact consistently with your children.

Do not underestimate the value of having simple conversations with children. Remember, even if you’re not their biological father, you can be a positive influence in their lives. I had the opportunity recently to meet with this group of students and it was a very enjoyable experience. They are very aware of what’s going on around them and had many questions, not only about Grenada, but global developments. So I encourage you today, let’s do our part as fathers to the children of this nation.

Wishes from Jamaica- Prime Minister Andrew Holness wished like that:

This Father’s Day, I celebrate our Jamaican fathers who show up every day, in every way, for their children. I celebrate Jamaican fathers who understand the value of being present and nurturing. I celebrate our Jamaican fathers who have, and are raising happy and responsible children.
I have been blessed with two children who call me “dad”. I have enjoyed fathering them and have learned so much along the way.
Fatherhood is a great joy and a great responsibility, so in honour of Father’s Day, I share my experience as a father and a few lessons I have learned along the way.
May I wish all Jamaican dads, a very Happy Father’s Day!

Wishes from St Kitts and Nevis:

Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris also extended warm wishes and said, “To all of the fathers in our beautiful nation, I say thank you for all that you do in raising our children to walk tall, be inspired and be the best they can be.”

Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley exclaimed that wishing all the fathers a very happy fathers day. God bless and watch over all of the fathers.

Wishes from St Lucia:

From Prime Minister of St Lucia Philip J Pierre, wishes were like that:

“For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.” 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12

“Daddy” continues to be one of my favourite titles to date. Thank you for all the wonderful lessons and the joy that you bring to my life.

To all the fathers, our children and our country need us. May we bring honour to this privilege that God has bestowed upon us.

Happy Father’s Day.

From Deputy Prime Minister of St Lucia Ernest Hilaire, wishes were like that

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers in Castries South and Saint Lucia. Continue to be the best that you can be. It is not always easy for some with all the challenges of today. Sometimes, we falter but always remember there is no greater responsibility than being a father. There is no great joy than fulfilling that responsibility. Let us never give up even when it seems hopeless.

I can’t believe that my girls are so grown up. Seems like yesterday that they were born. A source of inspiration is reading my Father’s Day cards. I have kept each one. They are so touching. Some day I will post them and share that joy that comes from the innocent and unadulterated love of children. Let us cherish those memories. Let us be the best father that we can be.
