Caribbean: The airlines based in the Caribbean named Caribbean Airlines announced that they are going to resume the direct flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, to Trinidad and Tobago.

The service will be non-stop and will start on May 5, 2022. In the flights, the passengers will add 320 seats to the market and also provide a dual cabin travel experience which further connects the diaspora with home and expands the flying options through JFK.

In addition to that, the carriers also emphasized that this route is part of Caribbean Airlines’ commitment to uplift regional connectivity. Further, it will also facilitate Trinidad and Tobago to boost its tourism sector.

The accommodation of the tourism age, who are the guests to Tobago, was also being negotiated by the Caribbean airline.

Besides this, the government of Trinidad and Tobago has also forced the airline to restore the direct flights from New York to Scarborough. Further, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, who is a Tobago native, further openly pushed for direct service between the island and New York for the State carrier.

Moreover, Prime Minister Rowley also expressed his disappointment during a political conference in Diego Martin. The flights between Tobago and the UDS financial centre had not resumed, which further claimed that Tobago was also seeking to increase tourism and become the only Caribbean island that will witness without non-stop service from North America.

“The airline is also collaborating with important players like the Magdalena Grande Hotel in Tobago to increase leisure travel demand and multi-destination tourism,” according to the Caribbean Airlines announcement.

“Customers may expect additional exciting announcements regarding unique collaborative deals and information about increased non-stop connectivity to and from Tobago in the coming weeks,” the airlines further added.

“In keeping with our goal to Reset Expectations, Caribbean Airlines will re-introduce non-stop service between Tobago and New York,” said Caribbean Airlines CEO Garvin Medera. .”
