Bright Black Fashion, an international platform for the people who want to showcase their talent in makeup, fashion designing or modelling, will give space to the artists to show off their skills with several online challenges. If they will be selected for the finals, they will be allowed to participate in the grand finale of Bright Black Fashion.

The Bright Black Fashion’s finale will be hosted in Dubai in June 2022. The finale would witness a contest of winners of one of each category. The categories are Fashion designers, makeup artists, models and fashion photographers.

The Bright Black Fashion is the brainchild of two Latino women, Andrea Laguna from Colombia and Alicia Becerra from Argentina. These two women have been residing in Dubai for the past eight years.

Andrea Laguna is a Colombian singer who reached UAE as a freelance artist and later saw the opportunities to support people searching for new beginnings or searching for new experiences entering a competitive international marketplace where constant improvement is the only way to succeed.

“We want to give opportunities to talented people who haven’t got the chance to show everything they can do in their industry”, Andrea said.

On the contrary, Alicia Becerra from Argentina reached Dubai as a fashion designer and has been living here for the past four years and has always extended her efforts to help people overcome professional difficulties to improve their lives.

“Bright Black Fashion is an amazing start to the participants’ careers. There is so much talent and diversity worldwide, and many people work hard but don’t get to the right place at the right time; all we want is to offer them that special opportunity,” Alicia said.

“I haven’t lived in many countries, but even if I have only experienced a few, that kind of exposure changes you; I see it not only on myself but almost everyone who goes through it… it opens your mind and network to become a better version of yourself and continue pursuing your dreams… at the very least, living in different countries gives a fresh perspective in life. So with Alicia (my partner), we put together connections in fashion and experience in entertainment to open as many doors as possible for others too,” Andrea added.

To participate in this platform, the candidates should register through the official website www.brightblackfashion.com or Instagram handle @brightblackfashion. Select the category you want to join in.

“They will receive all the requirements via email for the category they selected and start the challenges for the selection team to begin the process”, Andrea stated while informing about the registration process.

Bright Black Fashion would conduct a tour to support and bring attention to the platform. The tour will be conducted in Latin American countries, including Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and others, showcasing local and international designers. It will begin for the first season in San Luis, Argentina, next May 7, 2022, in the convention centre La Punta.

Michael Cinco, one of the biggest names in the fashion industry, a Filipino couture designer based in Dubai for more than twenty years and that has dressed celebrities like Beyonce, Jennifer López, Sofía Vergara, Lady Gaga and Rihanna, will be the primary designer of the show in San Luis alongside designers from the middle east like Salma Khan and brands like The Victor Closet as well as emerging designers from Latin America.

Furthermore, Andrea explained the different initiatives taken by the firm to outshine the market.

She stated, “I can say is that any efforts to push and support new talents are always a positive, in my opinion. It is our major focus to gather talent and participants who can represent Bright Black Fashion in the international arena.

“For now, the independent start of the platform is important as it would provide the freedom to adapt and evolve organically with the industry. Our platform would focus on our audience, without the pressure of a tight script, which tends to happen when presented on TV or screening platforms”. Andrea highlighted.

Andrea further explained collaboration, sponsors and support that can be provided to the platform. She was quoted, “Given the media collaborators we have right now (in Latin America and internationally), we can offer our sponsors and engaged growing audience, and it is the way we will continue to support more and more talents around the world for this first season and the ones to come.

They can write us the email brightblackfashion@gmail.com”.

She concluded and informed that the platform would be soon launching another space for the dance and music lovers, which would be announced during the grand finale of Bright Black Fashion.
