Brantley welcomes IICC representative, discusses ways to improve agriculture in Nevis

Both the delegates have touched on different areas of Nevis island, which focused Agriculture sector. They also focused on the enlargement of the different aspects of the agriculture sector.

St Kitts and Nevis: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Civil Aviation and Premier of Nevis- Mark Brantley welcomed Gregg Rawlins, who is an IICA representative in the Eastern Caribbean in St Kitts and Nevis. On Tuesday, March 29, 202, both the delegates met and discussed various matters of concern in the different sectors, especially Agriculture. 

While expressing pleasure over the meeting with Gregg Rawlins, Brantley noted, “Truly delighted to welcome home to Nevis my friend Gregg Rawlins, IICA representative in the Eastern Caribbean.”  

Both the delegates have touched on different areas of Nevis island, which focused Agriculture sector. They also focused on the enlargement of the different aspects of the agriculture sector. 

They have also discussed the various measures to uplift the agriculture sector and also increase the knowledge among the residents to adopt different steps to increase the productivity of the crops in the country. 

Further, there is a great partnership between IICA and the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis in the Agriculture sector. So, both the delegates have also discussed the strong ongoing partnership in Agriculture between IICA and the Federation

Premier of Nevis Brantley also met with Jones, who is the country coordinator. She is doing an extremely well job in the Federation to increase productivity and achieve food security in the country

“Also delighted to meet Jones, the in-country coordinator, who is doing great work in the Federation as we seek valiantly to achieve greater food security,” Brantley added. 

Gregg CE Rawlins, a national of Barbados, was appointed Representative of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in the Eastern Caribbean States on July 1, 2019. 

He has over 30 years of experience in the agriculture field in the Caribbean region at both the national and regional levels. He was a great agricultural economist who has achieved various several key multinational agencies in the region. 

Brantley also expressed the significance of food security and discussed various ways to improve it in Nevis.
