United Kingdom: Prime Minister Boris Johnson has agreed to resign in the face of an unprecedented exodus of junior and senior ministers, increased pressure over his position, and proved his week and devastated leadership.
The quitting of Johnson tuned out the big failure of his political carrier and added fuel to the political turmoil in the country. The resignation of Boris Johnson proved his poor leadership and people’s distrust of him. His every effort, agenda, and propaganda have been spoiled and his disapproval from his cabinet ministers raised questions about his credibility.
Not just that, but he also faced a blow to his credibility recently in his attempt to unseat a Labour peer- Patricia Scotland from the role of the Commonwealth Secretary-General that turned out massive failure. In the Commonwealth Heads of the Government Meetings (CHOGM), held in Rwanda in June 2022, Prime Minister Johnson backed Jamaica’s candidate Kamina Johnson Smith for the position of CSG due to his political rivalry with Patricia Scotland.
He used all his measures such as spreading false information and running inaccurate propaganda to defame CSG Patricia Scotland. Despite all these tactics, he failed to oust Scotland from the Commonwealth role. She managed to retain her position for the second term and revert back to all the critics. Her re-election showed her dedication, compassion, and capability to represent the Commonwealth and proved falsehood and irrelevance of PM Johnson.
Now, destiny has played his role as he worked so hard to turn down Patricia Scotland from the top position, and now he himself stood in the position of the downfall. It is Boris Johnson who lost his position as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
He was the man who questioned the leadership of Patricia Scotland, but now his leadership has itself become a question. Patricia Scotland had been backed by 27 member states in the CHOGM, on contrary, Boris Johnson has not even managed to gain the support of his own cabinet ministers. This was second blow to his capability as a leader. A leader always need an efficient team to run the administration, but due to his week performance, his team has faced huge setback.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson made every possible effort to oust Scotland as CSG, now himself have to face ousted from the office of the Prime Minister. While creating obstacles for CSG Scotland, PM Johnson himself digs into that obstacles and rejection.
