Over 32 people died, and 45 went through severe injuries after the explosion reported in a Shia mosque located in the southern City of Kandhar. This incident has been reported in Afghanistan. This information has been given by the Public Health official of the province.
This blast has been reported in the afternoon at Bibi Fatima mosque. On Friday, this largest mosque for the Shia Muslim community in the city was bombed.
Interior Minister Spokesman Qari Sayed Khosti said on Twitter: “We are saddened to hear that an explosion has taken place in a Shia Brotherhood mosque in the first district of Kandahar city, in which a number of our fellow citizens have been martyred and injured.”
The special forces of the Taliban arrived at the area of the incident for the investigation and finding the nature of the incident and the culprit it would be given the punishment while delivering the justice in the country.
One of the witness, while telling about the incident, said that he heard three explosions, out of which one was near the main mosque, another was in the southern area, and the third with the unions were washing.
Hospital sources said that they were being monitored with patients and that based on the number of ever-increasing intakes, they feared a high number of victims.
Photos posted by journalists on social media revealed that many people were apparently dead and many were lying severely injured on the bloody floor of the mosque.
The incident has been experienced after a week dozens of people were killed and more than 100 others were injured when a mosque in the northern province of Kunduz was targeted in an ISIL-K alleged bombing raid. The Taliban-led government has promised a swift response and blamed the perpetrators for the Kunduz attack.
