Belize: Belize has earned the “Safe Travels Stamp” from the World Travel and Tourism Council.
The stamp billed as the leading global safety, and hygiene stamp for destinations was given to the country at the end of last month.
The WTTC’s program aims to help travelers recognize destinations that have adopted health and hygiene protocols followed by WTTC’s “Safe Travels Protocols” amid the pandemic.
“Belize is delighted to have won the World Travel & Tourism Council’s Stamp of Approval,” said Belize’s Minister of Tourism Anthony Mahler. “The WTTC’s Stamp of Support is a milestone achievement for Belize and is truly a strong testament of Belize’s unwavering dedication to an environment that is safe, secure, and provides an authentic and meaningful experience to our visitors.”
Belize opened for tourism in October with a program called “Tourism Gold Standard,” covering all aspects of the travel experience amid the industry’s new challenges.
Belize enters into an esteemed group of destinations that have achieved this recognition, including Dubai, the Mexican Caribbean, Barcelona, Jamaica, Mauritius, and Saudi Arabia. Belize’s Tourism Gold Standard certification program for hotels, restaurants, travel operators, and attractions and our extensive Health & Safety guidelines underscores that our highest priority is our guests’ health and safety.
“Belize is delighted to have got the World Travel & Tourism Council’s Stamp of Approval,” says Belize’s Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Hon. Anthony Mahler, “The WTTC’s Stamp of Approval is a breakthrough achievement for Belize, and is a strong testament of Belize’s unwavering commitment to an environment which is safe, secure and provides an authentic and meaningful experience to our visitors!”
Templates have been developed to make the process of applying for Gold Standard recognition easier and more convenient.
This is a big success for the tourism of Belize, as tourism is one of the most hit industry in the time of COVID-19.
