Belize Men’s National Football Team arrives in Nicaragua for World Cup Qualifier

The national football men's team of the Belize island has arrived in Nicaragua ahead of the World Cup Qualifier, going to commence from June 4 2021, against Nicaragua in Managua.

Belize: The national football men’s team of the Belize island has arrived in Nicaragua ahead of the World Cup Qualifier, going to commence from June 4 2021, against Nicaragua in Managua.

The Football Federation of Belize – FFB provided the information that the team arrived safely in Nicaragua and have checked into their hotel.

On this Football Federation of Belize asserted that “We applaud the Jaguars for taking this journey and representing Belize in their upcoming match in Managua, Nicaragua on Friday, June 4, 2021.”

The FFB further informed that all the players and the technical staff were tested for the COVID-19 virus, and all of them resulted negative for the virus and to assure the safety of the players and the technical team, even the two drivers were also tested for the coronavirus and were negative.

The men’s team went to Nicaragua by road as they could not get a flight.

The Football Federation of Belize further cited, “The [Belize] Jaguars left by road through the Belize-Guatemala border in a luxury liner with spacious, comfortable seating and bathroom on a journey that took 25 hours. Their trip included three food stops and delays at borders which totalled 6 hours.”

FFB added that “The men’s team is united, determined, and in good spirits, and we have taken this opportunity to invite Belizeans home and abroad to continue showing their love and support to the Jaguars as they represent Belize in their third match of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.”

The federation further informed that the team would get a rest for one day and then will start their training for the next two days before their official training at the Managua National Stadium on Thursday before their World Cup match on Friday, June 4 2021.
