Belize confirms 94 new cases of COVID-19

Belize: Belize has confirmed 94 New Confirmed Cases of coronavirus and one new death reported due to COVID-19.

Health Ministry of Belize informed that country had recorded 44 New recoveries.

Health Ministry of Belize informed that total numbers of testing are done 59978, and total confirmed cases are 10901 out of which negative cases are 40755.

Belize has a 21.1 overall positivity rate, total deaths due to COVID-19 in the country is 250, and the case fatality rate goes in the nation is 2.29.

If we see gender-wise cases in the country, the female who tested positive from the COVID-19 is 5124 and male 5777. In the cases of deaths, 77 females died, and numbers for the male is 173.

Despite these, the good news is that the recovery rate of the country is 91.7 percentage.

As per the Health Ministry, current active cases in the country are 657.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness recalls the general public to follow the Public Health advice and adhere to the Isolation/Quarantine guidelines if you test positive.

Health Ministry also appealed anyone has difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, or chest pain, seek medical attention immediately.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness of Belize has recently issued a notice to the public in which they informed that Rapid testing would be done on Wednesday, January 6th at the ‘Maya Mopan Resource Center’ from 9 am – 2 pm, and on Thursday, January 7th at the San Martin Health Post from 9 am-2 pm.

These rapid testing would be done to persons who fit the following criteria:

1. Any persons who, within the past seven days, have symptoms of COVID-19 (Fever, Sore Throat, loss of taste and smell).

2. Any person who is a close touch of a confirmed COVID-19 case.
