Ministry of Health and Wellness announced 110 cases of COVID-19 in Barbados out of 1,787 samples sent for testing and 3 deaths related to coronavirus
Barbados: Ministry of Health and Wellness on Friday announced additional 110 cases of COVID-19 in Barbados out of 1,787 samples sent for the testing at Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory, and additional 3 deaths related to coronavirus diseases.
According to data provided by the ministry, 48 new cases are males and 62 are females and out of 110, 3 persons are under the age of 18. Following the COVID-19 measures, 850 persons are under isolation.
All 3 persons who succumbed to COVID-19 are aged 51, 93 and 73. The additional 3 deaths bring a total of COVID-19 related deaths to 57 in Barbados. Since the presence of COVID-19 in the county, 6,358 cases have been reported including, 3,177 males and 3,181 females in 292,019 test conducted by the health officials.
To stem the spread of COVID-19 government of Barbados has initiated a vaccination campaign that has inoculated 123,950 individuals with the first dose of vaccine. And 97,050 persons have administered a second dose of vaccine, which amounts to 35.8% of the overall population fully vaccinated against the global pandemic.
