Vaccinated travelers arriving in Barbados having a valid negative pre-flight COVID-19 PCR test result would not be asked to take a COVID-19 test after arrival or getting quarantined on the island. This decision would come into effect from October 24 Sunday. The mentioned details were stated by Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic, Minister of Health and Wellness.

The Travelers meeting the requirements would be allowed to freely move through the port of entry with no further restrictions.

The government had given the special authority to the Chief Medical Officer that he can request COVID-19 testing of any traveler who would be suspicious. The CMO could also call for quarantine of the tourist if he found any requirement.

The Health Minister further stated that he would advise the business owners and managers that employees who have been contacted COVID-19 virus in the past and have been in isolation. When these people are released officially from the isolation, they should not be asked for any test before joining.

Report from isolation is authorized by a medical doctor, who will declare an official certificate showing that the person has recovered and for no longer period they are at risk to other persons, including those at their place of work.
Therefore, after presenting their official discharge certificate, employees should not be asked to take a COVID-19 test to return to work.

A few days ago, Governor-general Dame Sandra Mason has been elected to become the first President of Barbados. On Wednesday, this decision was supported by all members of the house of assembly.

During the special session, Sandra mason gained support from all the members of the house but did not get support from one senator during the joint sitting of legislature chambers.

Senator Caswell Franklyn neglected all the majority of those who were in support of Masson for becoming First President of Barbados. Senator Franklyn walked out of the house.
