The much-awaited Barbados Reggae Festival will not be placed in the country for 2022, as it was announced by producers of FAS7STAR on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

Barbados: The much-awaited Barbados Reggae Festival will not be placed in the country for 2022, as it was announced by producers of FAS7STAR on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

The Barbados Reggae Festival was postponed due to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic and faced indefinite hiatus since its emergence in the country, so the producer of FAS7STAR has announced that they were hopeful after the resumption of all the COVID-19 restrictions.

However, they have announced that due to the lack of availability with artists, which has become the main issue for this year, lefts the producer with no choice to further postponed it to 2023, so the COVID-19 has again become the reason for the postponement of the Reggae festival of Barbados.

They have also released a statement and stated, “FAS7STAR has been looking to organize a scaled-down version of the Festival at the beginning of June, after witnessing relaxation of the COVID-19 protocols in Barbados. Due to the lack in the availability of the stars and the plan had to be abandoned when it proved all which is impossible to secure the calibre performers in which the Festival is renowned in the platforms such as locally, regionally and internationally.”

The statement further emphasized, “FAS7STAR also expressed gratitude to the residents of Barbados and the regional and international communities for their continued support since 2005 when the first time a festival was started and expressed pleasure with the launch of the ground-breaking Reggae on the Hill. It also stated that the director of FAS7SATR is also looking for the return of the normal phase and so that they could become able to stage the Barbados Reggae Festival 2023.
