Barbados law court charges lawyer ‘Nicholls’ over stealing thousands of dollars

In Barbados, the law courts have charged the 61-year old lawyer named Philip Vernon Nicholls with the charge of stealing thousands of dollars.

In Barbados, the law courts have charged the 61-year old lawyer named Philip Vernon Nicholls with the charge of stealing thousands of dollars. As per the reports, Nicholls was Attorney at law from Pine Gardens at St Mitchell has appeared before the law counters due to the multiple charges on Wednesday, February 22, 2022.

The attorney to the law has been charged in Barbados to stealing $102, 143.75 which belonged to Sandra O’ Garro. The incident happened between February 7, 2017, and October 22, 2019.

The amount has been stolen from the Sandra O’ Garro of Barbados, and from that period, the search operation was on in the country.

He has not been able to plead to the indictable charge when he appeared in front of the court with the Chief Magistrates Weekes on Wednesday. It was the District A Magistrate Court of Barbados.

The prosecutor Sergeant Victoria Taitt had presented no objection to the law court, and Nicholls posted bail in the sum of $40 000 with one surety, and they have gained the bail in the court in Barbados.

The lawyer who was defending Nichols in the case in the law court on Wednesday was named as defence counsel Kashka Mottley.

On February 25, 2014, Prominent Barbados attorney at law Philip Vernon Nicholas has faced the charges of money laundering and theft of $674,172 and get free on $200,000 bail.

The offences have involved a foreign real estate client, which is a method of stealing money that seems to prevail amongst Bajan lawyers.

Nicholas was a prominent lawyer of Barbados and had a long association with politicians, governments and government bodies which included the Bees. The former Prime Minister Owen Arthur has also been in connection with Nicholls, and it also included the David Shorey and the Barbados Cricket Association, which he remained part of.
