Barbados: Government changes curfew timings from 9 p.m. to midnight

The curfew timing changed from 9 p.m. to midnight. It will become effective from Monday (November 15) in Barbados.

PM Mia Amor Mottley stated that Barbadians should not take this as an excuse to violate the COVID-19 safety protocols.

After several discussions with the stakeholders, this decision to shorten the curfew hours was taken. The government will be reviewing the conditions in the country for the next four weeks, after giving relaxation in curfew hours. Citizens across the island are still being encouraged to get fully vaccinated and adhere to the COVID-19 protocols.

While giving the COVID-19 updation, PM Mottley said that people on the island should not become careless regarding their health safety and not violate the COVID-19 protocols like avoiding wearing the face mask in public, maintaining physical distancing at public gatherings to keep themselves safe from COVID-19 infections. The government would be expanding and rolling out the Safety Zones so that people can feel free and comfortable while doing their work.

PM Mottley warned the Barbadians noting that she is not afraid of again imposing the strict restrictions on the island to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. PM Mottley further stated, “if things get out of hand, we know how to bring it back into the hand”.

According to PM Mottley, now the Barbadians are well aware of the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they should adhere to the COVDI-19 protocols. Still, on the other side, PM also knew that there are several vital concerns that need to be solved and allow people to live and support their families and to continue their business working.

Single-dose -Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines are now available for the general public from November 10. The vaccine will be given to those who are 18 years or older.
