Bank of Nevis named lead sponsor of 49th Culturama Festival

The Bank of Nevis International Ltd (BONI) was today named the Lead Sponsor of Nevis’ annual summer festival, Culturama, dubbed “de Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Lime.”

Nevis: The Bank of Nevis International Ltd (BONI) was today named the Lead Sponsor of Nevis’ annual summer festival, Culturama, dubbed “de Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Lime.”

In a brief signing ceremony held at the Conference Room of the Nevis Island Administration’s Building in Charlestown, the Bank of Nevis International signed an agreement with the Nevis Island Administration to sponsor the island’s annual summer festival for the next three years, 2023, 2024, and 2025 with the sum of $100,000.00 each year.

Acting Premier and Minister of Culture, Eric R. Evelyn accepted the sponsorship on behalf of the Nevis Island Administration and by extension, the Nevis Culturama Committee. In his brief remarks, Minister Evelyn thanked BONI for the significant injection of funds into the festival and applauded the Culturama Secretariat for its efforts at securing such a substantial sponsorship.

Responding on behalf of the Bank of Nevis International Ltd was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. James S. Simpson, who said that the bank was pleased to partner again with the Nevis Island Administration and committed to continue supporting the efforts of the Nevis Island Administration.

Executive Director and Chairman of the Nevis Culturama Committee, Antonio Abonaty Liburd, signed the agreement on behalf of the NIA and the Culturama Committee of the country, while CEO of BONI James S. Simpson signed on behalf of the Bank of Nevis International Ltd.

To date, this sponsorship from BONI is the largest private sector cash investment to the festival in its forty-nine years of existence. The Culturama Festival will be celebrated from July 27 to August 8, 2023, under the theme “49 Years of Mas and Spree. Culturama 2023!
