Bahamas National Security signs 3-year contract with a Bahamian company

The Ministry of National Security of the Bahamas on Thursday has signed a three-year agreement with a Bahamian company - Proficient Business Services Ltd, to redesign and upgrade the existing closed-circuit television - CCTV system at the - Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDOCS).

Bahamas: The Ministry of National Security of the Bahamas on Thursday has signed a three-year agreement with a Bahamian company – Proficient Business Services Ltd, to redesign and upgrade the existing closed-circuit television – CCTV system at the – Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDOCS).

The agreement/contract was signed in the Main Conference Room at the Ministry of National Security Headquarters, located in the Sir Orville A Turnquest Building on John F Kennedy Drive.

On behalf of the government of the Bahamas, the contract was signed by Cheryl Darville, who is the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security and Montino Roberts signed on behalf of his company – Proficient Business Services Ltd.

The Commissioner of Corrections – Charles Murphy, and the technical and legal team of the Ministry of National Security were also present at the time of contract signing.

This contract between the government of the Bahamas and the firm would empower Proficient Business Services Ltd to redevelop and execute an IP surveillance system that would be competent in managing some 100 cameras at BDOCs, which covers – license plate recognition facial recognition as well as a pan-tilt-zoom feature set.

Proficient Business Services Ltd’s work expanse, in addition, includes the placing of the cameras, designing of video walls and a video management system – VMS platform, installing and configuring servers and cable management, developing a repetition for the system architecture at all levels and provision of equipment, works and service related to the project within the time period of the contract that is three years.

The Commissioner of Corrections further while expressing his appreciation feelings and stated that he is looking forward to starting the work which would assist in increasing the attention of his department, which is essential for the overall national security.
