Bahamas’ Baha Mar opens new water park 

The Prime Minister of the Bahamas Caribbean island - Hubert Minnis, was present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Baha Mar park of worth $200 million on Thursday.

The 15-acre water park extends on the resort’s luxurious options and welcomes both tourists and locals of all ages to come and take advantage of its numerous amenities and attractions.

During his address, PM Minnis informed that the Baha Bay has produced over 500 direct job opportunities so far, and that in the month of July, Baha Mar will have over 3,500 associates.

He added, “Today is yet another wonderful and powerful sign of the recovery and revival of The Bahamas.”

About the water park- 

The visitors can enjoy the 24 water slides, a wave pool, group raft rides, action river winding through a tropical landscape, a first-of-its-kind surf simulator and various other rides and facilities.

Besides this, the water park also has a kids’ island for the enjoyment of younger visitors, nine elevated food and beverage options, 30 private VIP cabanas, and an 8,500-square-foot private beachfront event space.

The prime minister further noted that during the past months, several visitors came back to the Bahamas and asserted that “The airports are occupied, resorts are reporting increased occupancy levels, cruise ships have returned, and there is a lot more to come.”

PM Minnis further appreciated and praised the work of the Baha Mar and stated that Baha Mar is supporting to lead the country’s recovery. 

“The resort’s vision for the months ahead are very promising, and the pace of bookings exceed those of 2019, which was a banner year with unprecedented numbers. Though our nation is coming back more stronger, we have a long way to go,” stated PM Minnis.

The Minister of Tourism – Dionisio D’Aguilar, and Baha Mar President – Graeme Davis, were also present at the inauguration ceremony of the water park. 

The Bahamas’ Prime Minister further concluded that “We have to get more Bahamians back to work as soon as possible, and would have to generate more opportunities for the people of the Bahamas for the ownership of our economy. We can only do this together.”
