While easing the various COVID-19 restriction for nationals, the Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has decided to scrap the requirement of mandatory vaccination for nationals of the country on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

As per the reports, the country has agreed to permit the unvaccinated nationals that they could now come back to their country, Antigua and Barbuda.

However, the nationals of the country who are returning from other countries have to undergo the test within four days of departure to Antigua and Barbuda. The residents could give their samples for any of the testing methods, which includes a PCR test or a rapid antigen test against the viral infection caused by the novel coronavirus.

Moreover, the citizens of the country have to follow the COVID-19 protocol and must have to agree to spend at least 7 to 10 days in isolation facilities. They must have to contain the tracking bracelet along with them during their isolation period against the COVID-19 viral infection.

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer and the Chief Health Inspector have been permitted to ease the restriction due to the viral infection of the COVID-19 pandemic for the national of the Antigua and Barbuda and urged to call them back to their country on February 17, 2022.

The citizens will also have to undergo a test after departing at Antigua and Barbuda against the COVID-19 pandemic and before the meeting with their families and friends.

As per the Information Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Melford Nichols, the various protocols related to the viral infection of the novel coronavirus will be imposed in the coming days. The ministry will further announce the changes to these protocols very soon, and everyone will be informed about the date.

Earlier, on Thursday, February 17, 2022, the Health Ministry of Antigua and Barbuda has received free shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine called Pfizer from the United States to uplift the campaign against the pandemic.
