Antigua and Barbuda: The nomination day for the Antigua and Barbuda general elections will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission announced the guidelines for the day. 

Antigua and Barbuda Nomination day guidelines are as follows:

  • The nomination Day Paper should be delivered between the honours of 8 am and 6 pm.
  • According to the Election Rules outlined in the Representation of the People (Amendment) Act 2001, the nomination paper contains the full name, place of residence and description (occupation) of the candidate. 
  • The name of a proposer and a seconder must be on the document submitted to the Returning Officer, along with the names of eight (8) other registered electors in that constituency. 
  • The nomination paper contains the electoral number of each person, as shown in the Register of Electors.
  • A sum of $500 in cash is deposited with the Returning Officer during the delivery of nomination papers. 
  • The Returning officer oversees the nomination process, and an individual who is nominated must consent to his or her nomination in writing. 
  • The names of the nominated candidates are printed/published in traditional and social media. 

Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission also announced the places for nomination in the 17 constituencies. 

  • St John’s City West: Villa Government School 
  • St John’s City East: Princess Margaret Secondary School
  • St John’s City South: Mary E. Priggot Government School
  • St John’s Rural West: Multipurpose Culture and Exhibition Center
  • St John’s Rural South: Golden Grove Government School
  • St John’s Rural East: Clare Hall Secondary School
  • St John’s Rural North: Cedar Grove Government School
  • St Mary’s North: Antigua State College
  • St Mary’s South: Bolans Government School
  • All Saints East and St Luke: Irene B Williams Government School
  • All Saints West: Sea View Farm Government School
  • St George: Potters Government School
  • St Peter: Parham Government School
  • St Philip North: Glanvilles Secondary School
  • St Philip South: Freetown Government School
  • St Paul: Liberta Government School
  • Barbuda: Holy Trinity Government School
