Antigua and Barbuda: Health Ministry shares update on COVID vaccines
Antigua and Barbuda: The Ministry is in the process of procuring additional COVID-19 vaccines for those individuals who are interested only in the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.
Persons are encouraged to take advantage of the COVID-19 vaccines which are available. These are the Pfizer, Sinopharm and Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccines that continue to be available at the Multiple Purpose Cultural and Exhibition Center and our Public Health Centers on Mondays to Thursdays from 9 am to 4:30 pm and on Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm. You are also encouraged to avail yourselves of COVID-19 vaccines during the Ministry’s special weekend vaccination programs. The venue and time for these sessions are announced on a weekly basis.
COVID-19 vaccines reduce transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and reduce the severity of the disease and deaths. COVID-19 vaccines also reduce the possibility of the long terms effects of COVID-19, which can include chronic fatigue or tiredness, shortness of breath and cognitive impairment or brain fog. Citizens and residents are therefore encouraged to get vaccinated and also to receive their boosters.
Health Ministry urged the people to stay tuned to the Ministry’s website, www.health.gov.ag and also our Facebook page, Ministry of Health and the Environment, for updates.
