Antigua and Barbuda conducts flag ceremony to celebrate diplomatic ties with Republic of Venezuela

The Office of the Prime Minister conducted a Flag raising ceremony in honour of the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Antigua and Barbuda and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

Antigua and Barbuda: The Office of the Prime Minister conducted a Flag raising ceremony in honour of the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Antigua and Barbuda and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

Participating in this ceremony are Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, and Carmen Velasquez de Visbal, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, along with members of the Diplomatic Corps. 

The ceremony will also include the official hand-over of the land certificate to The Government of Venezuela for Diplomatic use.

Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Carmen Velasquez de Visbal, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and members of the Diplomatic Corps participated in the ceremony.

The anniversary celebrations also witnessed PM Browne officially hand over a Land Certificate of two acres of land that the Government of Antigua & Barbuda gifted to the Government of Venezuela to construct an Embassy. 

During the ceremonial event, PM Browne reiterated that “Venezuela has been a stalwart friend through thick and thin”, cataloguing a long history of Venezuela’s support for Antigua and Barbuda.
