The Commonwealth Youth Parliament is an annual event designed to introduce young Commonwealth citizens to the role and purpose of Parliaments as democratic institutions and providers of good governance. It’s organized by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and allows attendees to meet other young people from across the Commonwealth, empowering them to shape their own jurisdictions and engage with their local Legislature.

The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports – Saint Lucia wishes their young parliamentarians a fruitful engagement.

Those individuals are currently in Trinidad preparing to debate a remote work bill. The event brings together participants between the ages of eighteen to twenty-nine representing nine Commonwealth Parliamentary Association members. News Five’s Paul Lopez reports. The Opening Ceremony of the 11th Commonwealth Youth Parliament has taken place on The Remote Work Bill, 2022 at 3pm.
