The tourism ministry stated that they had got great appeals from the sister island Barbuda to boost the tourism sector of the country.

Before the collaboration between Barbuda Council and Motel, the United Kingdom, a team from Antigua has brought out the journey to Barbuda on Monday, March 21, 2022, morning. “A team from Antigua journeyed to the sister isle on Monday morning to launch the campaign under the theme, “We have one ferry, two flights and ten taxis; we’d love you to come but please, not all at once.” the statement of office of the prime minister reads.

The CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, Colin James, have also briefed about the launch of the campaign.

Colin James stated that he is really very excited about the prospects of further tapping Barbuda’s allure to grow the industry.

He affirmed that Barbuda has a great fascination with Tourism and want to strengthen the sector as it is the most significant contributor to Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Barbuda, despite being crowded for its endless pink sand beach, always remained untouched by tourism because people could only visit Barbuda through a boat, helicopter or in a tiny plane.

So, the aim of the campaign is to position Barbuda as an off beaten track island escape.

Further, Tourism Minister Charles Max Fernandez also appreciated the launch of the new campaign to bring the international spotlight on Barbuda. He stated, “This campaign could be able to manage the expectation of increasing tourism in the country”.

Colin C James also commented that they had spent many years marketing Barbuda and, through this campaign, could help the sector in the league.
