A 4-year-old brutally murdered in Bahamas, police searching suspects

A 4-year-old child had been brought to the hospital unresponsive it was revealed that the child sustained several injuries to her body.

Bahamas: It was reported on Friday that a 4-year-old child had been brought to the hospital unresponsive.

In the initial investigation, it was revealed that the child sustained several injuries to her body. However, an autopsy report is awaited to determine the exact cause of death.

Police Commissioner Paul Rolle said, “We do not speculate but are awaiting an autopsy.”

The names of the victim and the man and woman in custody have not been released by the police yet. But, according to some sources, local media houses have identified the child as Bella Walker.

The child’s grandmother, Mary Grant, described the victim as “friendly and smart.”

The child has lived with her grandmother and grandfather since she was two weeks old. Until recently when the child was sent to live with another female relative in North Providence.

Prime Minister Philip Davis expresses his grieve on the distressing matter involving the death of a four-year-old. He further added that the thought of any child being harmed deeply distresses him.

He adds that news of a child dying in such circumstances stirs up emotions of disbelief, revulsion and profound sadness.

While grieving with the victim’s family, he assured that justice would be served at any cost.

He ensures that everything will be done to ensure that no other child ever has to suffer the same fate. He further adds that there are always those culprits in the society whose felonies defy comprehension.

In this hour of grief, he stressed that such incidents should never happen again and assured everyone that he would do everything possible to prevent it.

Transport and Housing Minister JoBeth Coleby-Davis also tweeted that as a mother of a young girl, the news deeply saddened her.
