35% SKN population gets fully vaccinated

The COVID-19 vaccination report by the Health Ministry informs that a total of 35 per cent population (11,579) of St Kitts and Nevis are fully vaccinated against the virus as they received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as of 21 June 2021.

Saint Kitts and Nevis: The COVID-19 vaccination report by the Health Ministry informs that a total of 35 per cent population (11,579) of St Kitts and Nevis are fully vaccinated against the virus as they received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as of 21 June 2021.

As od the vaccination report, till 21 June 2021, a total of 33,928 doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been administered in St Kitts and Nevis sister islands out of which 7,900 COVID-19 doses were administered in Nevis where as 26, 008 COVID-19 doses were administered in St Kitts.

The Health Ministry’s report further informs that around 67,6 per cent of the total population of SKN has received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, as of 21 June 2021.

The twin islands is getting close to their target that is of 75 per cent of the COVID-19 vaccination.

The situation of the COVID-19 virus in St Kitts and Nevis is getting out of control day by day. The island recorded two deaths in the past few days.

As per the statistics, a total of 350 confirmed COVID-19 cases are there in the country and around 19871 individuals have been tested for the COVID-19 mutant out of which 19510 individuals have tested negative for the deadly virus.

Around 791 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes, where as a total of 513 people are quarantined in the facility. A total of 12,383 individuals have completed their quarantine period and are released now.

A total of seventy-five people have been recovered from the novel coronavirus.

A few days back, the government of St Kitts and Nevis twin-islands had announced a state of emergency in the country amid an increase in coronavirus cases. The state of emergency would be in effect till the 6th of July 2021.

The government has also urged the citizens to follow the COVID-19 health protocols in order to defeat the pandemic and return back to normal daily life.
