St Kitts and Nevis: Marsha Henderson, Tourism Minister (St Kitts and Nevis) expressed the projected count of 342 cruises to arrive in the region during the Press Conference at St. Kitts Marriott Resort on October 26, 2023.

She notably said that this season , the country will give a bid welcome to 342 cruises in total. Such a welcome will also give an entry to a large number of visitors to the beautiful Island.

Moreover, the world’s largest ship, “ Icon of the Seas” will also be one from all 342 cruises. The ship has an aggregate capacity of 7600 passengers, offering a wide range of tourism.

The ship will give the most awaited arrival on January 30, 2023.

The arrival of such a huge count of passengers will benefit the land by the spendings of the visitors.

The minister even emphasized on the ways through which the tourism of the island can take an escalating direction.

She extended this by saying, if the country has to surge the advantages of tourism, there is a need to experience the cultural shift. This can even be achieved by concentrating on various areas.

Further, she highlighted the current tourism product, which she claimed is strong, new and unique.

Interestingly, the product is completely focused on the various parameters which will lead to increased tourism. These are as follows:

  • Improved accessibility
  • Strategic market plan
  • Collaborations among stakeholders and agencies
  • Increased rooms count
  • Sustainable and resilient destination

She shed light on the objective of this sector as the main motive of the department is to create more wealth by promoting the spending habits of visitors.

The vision of the sector is to generate the unsettled balance between visitors and cruise. This will even lead to increased expenditures by the visitors.

As the major goal is to increase the spendings of the visitors, the island has all the power of forcing people to expend more.

This is due to the increased luxury vessels, which the land has witnessed in recent times. This even makes it the premier tour destination.
