Saint Lucia: The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia – Allen Chastanet, has informed the citizens of the island that the government has rehabilitated around 30 per cent of the roads in the country.
PM Chastanet shared this information via his social media handle and has called this a monumental achievement.
He asserted that “There is still a lot more to be done. In the upcoming days, residents of Grass Street in Mon Repos would begin to fully enjoy the completion of their community road.”
PM Chastanet further informed that from 9 June 2021, work has commenced on the rehabilitation of the main community road in the Mon Repos area.
“Better roads mean less vehicle maintenance, jobs during construction, increased property values for families and quicker access to you during emergency situations,” PM Chastanet added.
On the post of PM Chastanet, one of the residents stated that “I am happy for the people in mon repos, but I am still begging for my roads to be fixed in monkey town Ciceron the roads are really bad.”
Earlier, the St Lucian Prime Minister stated that the UWP government had succeeded in fulfilling all their promises since 20216 for the development of the nation and would continue to provide their service for St Lucia to make it a better place to live.
The island’s prime minister earlier also cited that this list of achievements by the UWP government is by no means consumed and that the government has achieved quite a bit.
The driving standards in St Lucia are unsteady, and as per the reports, roads in some areas of St Lucia are reasonably well-paved but inadequately marked, narrow and winding, with steep inclines and declines throughout the land. There are some guardrails in the regions that have steep drop-offs from the road.
