Roseau, Dominica: Three different cruise ships arrived at the ports of the Commonwealth of Dominica. The day was noted as an excellent starting of the day by the vendor, hair braiders and roadside musicians.
The three cruises have docked at the different ports of Dominica, which are as follows:
- MSC Seaside docked at Roseau Cruise Ship Berth
- MV Enchanted Princess docked at Woodbridge Bay
- Silver Dawn docked at Anchored
They reported the cruise season 2022/2023 as the year with a maximum number of tourists on the island after the situation and break due to the COVID-19 pandemic that was spread globally.
According to some reports, the Cruise season 2022/2023 is an excellent and favourable season for the stakeholder as they are happy to get more customers in their shops; most of them are tourists who came from ships while they cruise berths on the ports of Dominica. Taxi drivers and bus drivers are very satisfied with the number of tourists in this year’s cruise season. Till February 28, 2023, Dominica welcomed nearly 139 cruise ships that brought approximately 216,489 passengers.
While sharing the number of passengers of the MSC Seaside cruise ship, the official page of tourism updated that the photos show that the MSC Seaside cruise ship is at Rooseau Cruise Ship Berth. It had nearly a capacity of 5429 passengers. This same vessel had come to the island in this season.
A local roadside musician said that he got tips from tourists during this season. He has some musical instruments which he plays by himself, but sometimes some tourists are also fond of music, so when they listen and play the instruments and when they feel happy, they give money to him and ask him to keep that money.
A german tourist, while talking about Dominica, said that this place is very beautiful when they hired a boat to see the island’s out beauty so then they experienced the extraordinary beauty of nature of the island. He praised the lush green forest with varieties of animal plants and world-famous fruits.
The report of the tourism department stated that the country expects a total of 196 cruise calls on the island in this season.
Prime Minister of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit also took to social media and expressed pleasure in welcoming cruise passengers. The government of Dominica shared glimpses of the cruise season shining in the country.
It stated, “A beautiful Friday in Roseau, with three cruise ships in port. Stakeholders have stated, “it is a good day”.
