Saint Kitts and Nevis: The political alliance of three political parties of St Kitts and Nevis – Team Unity commemorates the first anniversary of the second term in office on June 6th 2021.

On occasion, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Timothy Harris, asserted, “Team Unity government, stands in humility and obedience to the will of God. These are troublous times the world over. The dangerous and deadly COVID-19 virus floats over all we do. Even in churches, we must observe the COVID-19 protocols

and hide in God’s protective cover.”

PM Harris added, “I give thanks for a Cabinet that focuses on the people, especially the poor and vulnerable. I must again thank the people for their vote of confidence on June 5th, 2020, and for their continuing support.”

“One year on, we are better placed in our management of COVID-19. We have the vaccine, which is our most powerful tool, you have blessed us with. Our economic sector is opened up. Over 20,000 persons are at wor,k and our social safety net are assisting the poorest of the poor,” PM added during his speech on the commemorating ceremony.

We saw signs of recovery in agriculture, fisheries, manufacturing, financial services, etc. Last year, there were no tourism services as we were in a necessary lockdown to save lives. This year we are hopefully optimistic about the recovery of the tourism sector.

Closing his statement, he cited that “I congratulate our nation on its choice of Unity. I also congratulate the people for choosing a more robust and safer future. With God’s grace, my plan is to do my very best as a servant of the people, to serve my people and country to the best of my ability.”

Team Unity
is the partnership of political parties such as – People’s Action Movement – PAM, the Concerned Citizens Movement – CCM, and the People’s Labour Party – PLP.
