St Lucia: As the vaccination phase is going on globally, the Prime Minister of St Lucia – Allen Chastanet, receives his second dose of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
He stated, “Earlier today(yesterday), I received my second dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.”
PM Allen also praised and appreciated the Doctors, nurses and the other frontline workers who are working day and night tirelessly to ensure the safety of the citizens and officials of the nation and to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic
On this, he stated that “I will forever remain grateful to all our Frontliners who continue to lead the charge in this long and tedious battle. Our country will always be indebted to you for your daily sacrifices.”
PM further stated that many countries are experiencing new waves of the virus and in this situation getting the COVID-19 vaccine is the best defence against this pandemic which has left the whole world in shock and he even encouraged the citizens of St Lucia to get themselves and their families vaccinated.
He stated, “As you all may be aware, many nations around the world are currently experiencing new waves of the virus and getting vaccinated continues to be one of the best defences against this COVID-19 pandemic and getting our lives back to some level of normalcy.”
“Vaccinate: For You, For Yours, For Us,” urged PM Allen.
After seeing this, one of the residents of St. Lucia commented that “When will the protocol change for persons who are coming in who are fully vaccinated, I am a frontline worker, fully vaccinated, and test every week, I quarantined for 14 days in December when I came home and the other islands are already implementing the change of 48 hrs quarantine once fully vaccinated and coming with a negative test 72 hours prior to travel, when will St. Lucia follow this protocol?”
through the Ministry of Health and Wellness, launched the national COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign on 17 February 2021 and so far till 24 April 23,941 Covid-19 vaccine doses are given to the people.
As of April 23, 2021, 941 St.Lucians have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 392 citizens have received their second dose.
