Melissa Skerrit examines footpath project in Roseau Central Constituency

Dominica: Parliamentary Representative and wife of Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica Melissa Poponne-Skerrit visited to examine one of the footpath projects in her own Roseau Central Constituency on Tuesday, 23 March 2021.

She said, “The need for this footpath project was realized during my regular visits to some of the homes in Roseau during the election period.”

” In addition to the path resurfacing, the aims of this project are to also create better and safer access to the constituents’ homes through the provision of improved lighting and covering of exposed water pipes.” Melissa Skerrit added.

“This project will be an ongoing one within the city.” Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Constituency noted.

Melissa Skerrit always concerns about her own constituency people & takes vital steps in the development of the whole country. 

Earlier, She also visited St. Mary’s Primary School, ” served as further indication that our children are truly excited about books! ” she said.

“My contribution to Literacy Month ended with a reading session with the Grades One and Two classes, and it was a quite enjoyable one. The participating classes were then gifted an assortment of books, toys, and cookies upon completion of our reading journey.” She noted. 

“I must admit that the sweetly worded handmade card and the rose were greatly appreciated. Thank you, SMP.” Mellissa Skerrit added. 

She encourages the young generation of Dominica to read books. 

She noted, “Reading is such fun! I had the great pleasure of reading to Kindergarten and Grade 1 students at the Jones Beaupierre Primary School in Laplaine on Monday. The students of the Delices Primary school also joined in the fun.” 

She added, “This visit seeks to spark the love for reading among our little ones, particularly during Literacy Month. The pupils were all given books to continue their literary journeys at home.”
