Maldives: Foreign Minister of Maldives Abdulla Shahid jointly inaugurates with External Affairs Minister of India the Hulhumalé Central Park & Arrival Jetty projects undertaken with Indian Grant Assistance.
These projects symbolise Government’s imperative to promote a clean & green atmosphere for residents of all ages.
Abdulla Shahid said, “A bird in flight stays true on course, with not one but two wings in synchronised motion. Our two countries are just like those wings. We work in harmony; we work together, with the same interests, aiming to reach the same destination.”
“Ours is a relationship that predates formalities – one that remains unhindered by time. Ours is a relationship of people. One of the top foreign policy objectives of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was to reinvigorate and revitalize our traditional, long-standing relationship with India.” He added.
Minister further noted,” Housing is an essential priority for the Government! Letter of Intent signed within Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation and EXIM Bank of India for 2000 social housing units is a step forward! Happy to see increasing interest from Indian investors in the Maldives. “

The Second Amendatory Dollar Credit Line Agreement signed between Gov of Maldives & EXIM Bank of India today will re-purpose the balance of 2011 $40million LoC towards the development of roads across the Maldives – a much-needed investment in the Maldives!
Both leaders signed the MoU to establish a Geydhoshu Masplant in Noonu Kendhikulhudhoo! This MoU will allocate Indian grant assistance under the High Impact Community Development Projects scheme towards the development of a small-scale fish processing plant in the island!
