He said, “the kind attention by the Governments of Barbados and Dominica is the best image of Caribbean unity during these unprecedented & trying times. The people of Saint Lucia are most thankful to the Prime Ministers in our adjacent islands for their effort”.

He added, “I am confident that Government will prioritize the protection of our frontline workers and start w ith the most vulnerable citizens.”

The Opposition Leader concluded by saying, “I want to wish our brothers and sisters in Barbados & Dominica all the best as they proceed to combat the challenges presented by the pandemic.”

We implore the Government of Saint Lucia to do everything it can to get vaccines and the required equipment on the island so we can begin defeating the scourge of COVID-19 immediately.

Saint Lucia is fighting a lot against the coronavirus; in recent times, the country has also reported 72 new cases of COVID-19.

By the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ renewed national COVID-19 response policy, valid February 11, 2021, the Government from Saint Lucia is receiving a more significant part of State Quarantine’s cost for returning nationals.

After periodic reviews of the Quarantine policy, noting infringements in the process, Home Quarantine has been reduced to exceptional circumstances only. It will now transition to state-based quarantine facilities, as much needed vigilance is required to manage all incoming nationals. Please remark that the Government of Saint Lucia remains to cover the cost of locals and residents on the island placed in state-quarantine and isolation.
