Belize: The Ministry of Health and Wellness of Belize announced plans to expand testing to include persons requiring negative COVID-19 tests for entry to other countries. To this end, the Ministry has published a list of approved COVID-19 testing sites.
The attached list includes:
• Approved COVID-19 Testing Facilities
• Approved COVID-19 Testing Facilities for Travelers (Public)
• Approved COVID-19 Testing Facilities for Travelers (Private)
Additional testing sites will be added to the lists mentioned above over the next six weeks.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness reminds the public that the Ministry currently approves only PCR and Antigen tests of Health and Wellness. The public is advised to be aware of anyone making claims to conduct any other type of testing for COVID-19. Persons can call the Ministry’s toll-free number 0-800-MOH-CARE (0-800-664-2273) for information on approved health facilities and laboratories endorsed by the Ministry to conduct the approved tests.
The government, an official statement, Government of Belize urged people, said, “The Ministry of Health and Wellness wants you to love your families and show love and support by doing your part to protect our frontline workers.
Continue to wear your mask properly and consistently at all times.”
Belize has confirmed 27 New Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
Health officials also notified that country has 45 New Recoveries
3 New Deaths Reported with a 20.1 percentage of daily positivity rate.
Two infected persons are also in the Intensive Care Unit.
Suzie, a resident of Belize, said, “I asked what the protocol was/is for people in the hospital…no answer. I asked for the age of the people who died .we get nothing. No information, it is very hard to decide for you and your family without any information. Please start asking your reps for information.”
