$2.6 million spent on Morne Prosper Water Supply Project in Dominica, outlines PM Skerrit

While giving information about his tourn to the valley, PM Skerrit, through his Facebook post, also marked it as "ON TOUR: ROSEAU VALLEY CONSTITUENCY" and noted, "I toured parts of the Roseau Valley Constituency on Thursday, March 17, 2022, along with the Parliamentary Representative, Hon. Dr Irving McIntyre and other members of the Cabinet."

Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit toured parts of Roseau Valley Constituency to take an update on the various projects for the valley. On Thursday, March 17, 2022, PM Skerrit also announced various projects for the Capital of Commonwealth of Dominica during his visit there along with the Parliamentary Representative, Dr Irving McIntyre and other members of the Cabinet. 

While giving information about his tourn to the valley, PM Skerrit, through his Facebook post, also marked it as “ON TOUR: ROSEAU VALLEY CONSTITUENCY” and noted, “I toured parts of the Roseau Valley Constituency on Thursday, March 17, 2022, along with the Parliamentary Representative, Hon. Dr Irving McIntyre and other members of the Cabinet.”

Outlining the initiation and completion of various projects in Roseau, PM Skerrit stated that the Government has upgraded the Copthall main road and constructed two drains to prevent flooding. 

 Further, he said that under the Morne Prosper Water Supply Project, the construction of the 60,000-gallon water tank is completed. The project cost a total of $2.6 million which was funded by the Basic Needs Trust Fund the Government of Dominica, and DOWASCO.

 Moreover, PM Skerrit also exclaimed that while working on the Morne Prosper project, the Government of Dominica provided more attention to the Overbridge Road. The aim of the Government was to pay more attention to the Road to create greater access for farmers so that they could travel freely.  

In addition to that, the Road is also constructed to provide rehabilitation to a section of the Road that is adjacent to the playing field.

While stressing upon the work on the Casso Road, PM Skerrit emphasized that the Road has linked Copthall to Wotten Waven, and it is completed. He said,” we are developing the concept for a new vending facility in Wotten Waven to improve the visitor experience and boost trade. 

 In Trafalgar, the Prime Minister of Dominica stressed that the Government would embark various other projects, which includes:  

  • It is a housing initiative that provides safe, resilient shelter for residents and improves sporting facilities.  
  • It is also included the reconstruction of the basketball court and playing field in Lily Valley.

“We will soon determine the most appropriate site for the construction of a multi-purpose community centre in Laudat, “underscored prime minister.  

He further asserted that the Government of Dominica is near to the completion of the Find Canine projects as the work on the Cabanis Wall is underway.

PM Skerrit stated,” We also made a quick stop in Fond Canine to view ongoing works on the Cabanis Wall.”
