Guyana: A 13-year-old child in Guyana fell faint in Guyana after received her Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine jab at the Parika Salem Secondary School.

The child was immediately taken to the Leonara Hospital for medical assistance out of an abundance of caution. The doctor at the hospital examined her and placed her on oxygen, after which she was discharged. The child is currently taking rest at home and being taken care of by family.

The Ministry of Health reminded all parents to mention their child’s medical condition before getting a vaccine shot. The vaccination series is two doses given three weeks apart. If you receive one dose of the vaccine, you should receive a second dose of the vaccine three weeks later to complete the process.

“Please encourage your children to get vaccinated to protect them from the severe forms of COVID 19 disease. Stay safe.” Statement read.
